Kingston University London
Kingston upon Thames/United KingdomKingston University London is a public research university located in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, in South West London, England. Its roots trace back to the Kingston Technical Institute, founded in 1899. The institution achieved university status in 1992, evolving from its previous designation as Kingston Polytechnic.
The university specializes in the arts, design, fashion, science, engineering, and business, and is organized into four faculties:
- Kingston School of Art: Renowned for its art, design, and architecture programs.
- Faculty of Business and Social Sciences: Encompasses Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences.
- Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education: Offers programs in health, social care, and education, in collaboration with St George's, University of London.
- Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment: Focuses on engineering, computing, and environmental sciences.
In 2017, Kingston University won The Guardian University Award for teaching excellence. The university is a member of the European University Association, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and the University Alliance group.
